17th & 18th April 2010 EastFortune. Melville

Well it was East Fortune last weekend and it was the first round for Melville. :) It was really hot on Friday when mum and me went down. We got scrutineered and ready for Saturday.

We woke up and it was dry but very cold outside. I got ready for my five minute practices. My dad said that if I go out and my number one Aprilia still had a spitfire then it would be going in the back of the van. If i went out and my number two Aprilia's gears weren't working right it would be going in the back of the van. And if anything was to happen with my GP bike then I would be watching for the rest of the weekend. :( But thankfully I went out and everything seemed good on all my bikes - except when I pulled into the pits someone noticed that there was water pouring out of my GP bike's belly pan :O - I was confused because the temperature was at 55°C and that was perfect. But my dad fixed it - I think it was only a loose screw or something. :S

Aprilia qualifying: I was 2nd on the grid which was cool because I was still on the front row. :)
GP qualifying: I was 3rd out of the GP's but I was 14th on the grid, as we were out with the BIG big bikes, which I thought was rather exciting - if I got a good start. :)

Aprilia race1: I didn't really get a good start and so I was 2nd all the way round to the line. It wasn't the most exciting race but I was still having fun chasing the classics and stuff. :)

GP race1: My start was pretty disappointing, but I was just getting into it again so I wasn't too bothered. It was good though because the big bikes need to brake a lot earlier than my wee bike, so I made up a lot of ground by diving in at corners, but it was annoying when they came flying passed on the straight again. Grr. I think they were helping to drag me along a bit too. :) I finished 2nd which was good.

Aprilia race2: I got an average start, and so I was 3rd to Paytes, I passed the rider in second going along the back straight. Unfortunately the rider in first has a mega fast bike and he was pretty much away by the time I got to the next few corners. I just enjoyed trying to chase. :) I was happy with two 2nd's though.

GP race2: I was amazed when I got an amazing start. :D I flew past some of the bikes in front of me and I was at the front for the GP's. I kept chasing and I got stuck behind a big bike for at least three laps which was a bummer because I knew the others were on the move. So I had to just budge passed. :) I was 1st across the line and I was really pleased. :)

On Saturday night we stripped and re-built both my Aprilia and my GP bike and put in new pistons ready for Sunday. :D When I woke up on Sunday morning it was cold and very wet. :( I was meant to be going out for the five minute warm up just to double check my gears were ok. When my mum actually woke me up it was time go on the bike, hehe. It was about quarter to 9 and I was still snoozing. :)

Aprilia race3: I got a really good start but was still second to Paytes. I was there or there abouts, until I almost highsided at Hannah's. My back end was sliding about like crazy. Woopsie. It was the last lap and I was just keeping my pace up to cross the line until when I was coming into the last corner I saw a bike stopped at the side of the track. Could it be the leader of the race has had a mechanical. :O ...I raced to the line and took the win. :)

GP race3: It was really wet by now and I was worried my temperature was going to drop. My dad said that if it did drop below 50 on the wam up lap then I should just pull into the side before I went on the grid and he would quickly put a bit of tape on. It was right enough my temperature was at 45°. I was ready to stop at the side and my dad was just telling me to go. It wasn't too important anyway because I knew my engine temperature was at 50° so it was fine. :) ...anyway... I got an awsome start and was right up with the big bikes, when I was overtaken by another 125. I was first then second but ended up 2nd, after a long fight with a big blue thing. I was getting a bit aggressive in my helmet. GRR, hehe. So I had to settle for second or risk crashing. It was a good race. :)

Aprilia race4: My start wasn't the best again so I had to really concentrate - as it was starting to dry up as well - not much to my amusement. It was another lonely race but I kept myself occupied by singing to myself. I finished with a 2nd. :)

GP race4: I got a beauty of a start and was fighting to get to the front of the pack.... but to my disappointment I got stuck behind that same blue bike. :O And it was only lap 1! I HAD to get past, and FAST! I was lining him up going into the hairpin - luckily I never dived up his inside - because coming out of the hairpin I got the biggest fright of the weekend when this guy's back wheel dropped off the side of the track and it was off the ground - THE LOT. I was OHHHH-in. Muck sprayed up, he was all over the place. I had one hand on my head. It was an instinct reaction haa. Now I really had to get passed this guy. And I did. I braked really late going into Railway and flew round the bends so that I could get away from him. :) I ended up 2nd in that one too :) ...definitely not a disappointment.

Overall I was pleased with my efforts of the weekend, and also I got £90 prize money for my efforts. :) Thankyou to everyone who helped out over the weekend. :)
