1st&2nd May2010 knockhill
It was Knockhill at the weekend and it was an awsome weekend. :)
Saturday practice, I woke up and it was dry! We couldn't believe it. I decided to just go out on my GP bike for the day, and leave my Aprilia for the Sunday.
It was only two 20 minute sessions we were getting so I had to be ready to just go straight out. It was good to have a dry practice again. The bike was going really well but I felt I needed more "OOOOMf" so after the first practice we changed my geearing. In the second session I felt that the gearing really helped me get me out of the corners faster.
On Saturday night we stripped and re-built my bike and got tyres and stuff organized for Sunday morning qualifying. Sunday I woke up and it was dry again. :) We went to scrutineering and then riders briefing.
I was out first on the Aprilia for qualifying. I only did a couple of laps but that was enough to set the pace to be on pole position. Qualifying on the GP went well. I was second on the grid. :) Although I wasn't the comfiest on the bike as the zip on my suit was tight and pressing against my boot, so it didn't feel like my boot was attached to my foot hehe. I swapped my suit for the race so it was fine then.
It was lunch and I was taking part in the breast way round parade which collects for mcmillian cancer support. It was doing a couple of laps round the the track with many other particapants, wearing something pink. I had no problem with that as my bike is pink. :)
Aprilia race1: I got a good start and was first to Duffus. I got my head down and every lap my gap was getting bigger, so I led it across the line. :)
GP race1: I got an amazing start - which is highly unusual for me, and I was first to Duffus until Stuart came round the outside of me. I tucked in behind him and followed him until the straight where I passed him into the hairpin. The next lap he passed me again and then I passed him back. It was around 4 laps to go and I stupidly ran a bit tight at Clarks and ended up bouncing over the curbs... woopsie! I decided to take it easy and not do anything silly. So I ended up 2nd, which was still an awsome race. :)
Aprilia race2: I got another wheeliee start and I was in the zone to cross the line first. Which I did. The race seemed to go soo slow as I was just counting down the laps each time. Another good finish. :)
GP race2: We got two warm up laps for each race and I started to see small blobs on my screen. I didn't take much notice though. The last race of the weekend and I was hoping for another good start. I got a blinder and was first again. :D Stuart was right on my tail though, so we were swapping places for a few laps until I had a small wobble (at Clarks again) and stuart got a gap on me. I finished 2nd again. :)
For the last two races of the weekend I wore a pink breast way round bib.
Thankyou to all who helped out this weekend. :)
