4th, 5th & 6th June 2010 Knockhill North East

It was Knockhill at the weekend and it was a really weird and wonderful weekend, mostly because of the strange weather turn overnight. We were practicing on Friday too because it was the North East.

Practice 1: was going to be the first time out on my new GP bike. :) It was roasty toasty hot on Friday so I only went for two sessions. The first session I was just getting used to it all, but there wasn't very much differnt compared to my other bike except the brakes and the suspension. We changed the amount of oil in the fork legs to try and soften the front up a bit. There was a big difference I thought. Mark helped adjust my back shoki. Friday after my two sessions we stripped and re-built my bike and the piston looked brand new. :)

Saturday. It was really warm in the morning. So it was definetly slicks. My GP practice went well and everything seemed good, and my aprilia practice was good too, the bike seemed to be running fine, so I was ready for qualifying.

GP qualifying - I was on my first lap and it got red flagged. So we had to come in and then after that delay all the rest of the qualifyings only got four laps. So I was on the 5th row of the grid - not the best place to be as the other 125's were further down on row 2 etc. So I had to pray to get a good start. I wasn't too keen on the system as it wasn't a split grid and I was shoved between all the big bikes. Hehe.

Aprilia qualifying was ok as I was 2nd on the grid - still on the front row which was all good. :) I did feel that my Aprilia throttle was vibrating more than usual so I got my dad to have a nosy at it and thankfully Freddy spotted that it was only the mountain bolts that had came loose, and the vibration was going up to my handbar and throttle. But my dad tightened it so it's all fine now.

It was my first race of many of the weekend. and I was firstly out on my GP bike. I got an ok start and was trying to chase one of many GP bikes. The first corner was mad with lots of bumping and bashing going on! Hehe. The big bikes were good fun to race and I was slowly getting closer to Ewan and Peter in front of me. I was shocked when I passed them :O:O but then they passed me back. It was fun.

My first Aprilia race was ok. I got a not too bad start and was 2nd for just about the whole race until on the last lap I saw a puff off smoke at Duffus... The leader was down so this meant that I was winning. My number one bike wasn't running too well as the temperature was really high, so dad had to fix that.

My second GP race... I got an alright start and passed Stu on the left hand side and he passed me back on the outside. A big bike guy bumped into me and Stu's back wheel went into the dirt at Duffus and my front wheel followed him, and so we got gapped a bit. As it was only a six laps race we didn't really have much time to catch back up, as there was a red flag in the first half. Then I almost ran into a guy at the hairpin as I thought he was going to brake a bit later than he did. But I managed to dodge him. Although it was a short race it was really enjoyable.

My second Aprilia race was amazing! Calum and I battled at the start of the race and gradually I got a bigger and bigger gap. I was so chuffed! So I won that race too.

Saturday night we stripped and re-bulit my bike and everything was perfect again. Sunday morning I woke up and it was rather dull and minging.

My first gp race was just me and the big bikes as there were no other GP bikes in reach of me. I still had a good fun race with the big guys though.

My first Aprilia race was good also as I battled right till the end. About four laps to go I missed a gear and dropped back a bit but managed to pull the leader back in and take the lead over the line by 0.05 seconds.

My second GP race was ok as I was battling with three big bikes and another GP bike. I got a fright coming out of the hairpin as I had a huge wheelie compared to the normal air I get hehe.

My second Aprilia race was a bit frustrating, as I had an alright start and we were battling to the finish line and I got passed over the line by 0.02 grrr. It was still such a fun race though. :) Oh... and I broke my lap record to a 1.02 dead!! WOOOO!

My third GPrace was wet and I almost got dunted off at Duffus. everyone was sliding everywhere. It was MAD! We got cut down to six laps due to the ambulances being away for a while. I just tried not to make a mistake and I crossed the finish line with a happy me.

My third Aprilia race was ok. I was 2nd again due to me not getting such a good start, and my gears were doing their own thing, so I had to concentrate EXTRA hard.

Anyway... I had an awsome weekend! A HUGE thanks to everyone who helped out. :)
