10th & 11th July 2010 East Fortune. Melville

It was East Fortune at the weekend and I couldn't wait. We went down and got set up. On Saturday morning it was qualifying etc and it was very wet. I qualified 6th for the Aprilia because I had done the least laps, which I think was a bit unfair. The timing didn't work so they put us in order of laps done... I was gutted because I was behind Callum for the whole session, but came in a lap early and I was 6th due to a fault with the timing. Oh well, I had to pray for a good start. Qualifying on my GP bike went alright. I was 6th for that too. :) Mixed in with the big bikes.

My first race was for my Aprilia and I was 3rd into Paytes but 1st out of Railway. I had to keep my cool and be smooth. I almost crashed going down the back straight as one of the riders came right across my front wheel diagonally which I wasn't too impressed with. So I got a good drive out of the hairpin and bet him into Hannahs. Gradually every lap he pulled a gap along the straight so I had to settle for 2nd, which I was pleased with.

My first GP race, I got a pretty good start and my temperature was at 60° which was fine for the conditions which were - the track was wet but just light drizzle. Throughout the race my temperarure dropped to under 50° so unfortunatly I had to pull in.

I didn't get any more races on the Saturday because of all the stoppages. Dad, Freddy and I stripped and re-built my bike ready for the Sunday.

On Sunday we woke up and the wind was whistling. There were some races still to be completed from the Saturday to do first so I wasn't on track for a while. The 600 race got red flagged 2/3 times due to the wind and everyone shooting past their braking point and crashing. There was a riders briefing just to inform people of how strong the wind was. And unfortunately at 2:00 the meeting was abandoned and so I didn't get any more races for the weekend. I was sad to hear this was what was going to happen, but the weather wasn't safe - escpecially for the small bikes.

Thankyou to all who helped out. :)
