Another fun weekend at Shannonville Motorsports Park!
Friday morning didn't look so promising for Goyer when she had a minor mechanical problem; however, thanks to Mimic Industries for supplying the parts needed, Goyer was all set to ride by Saturday morning practice.
Goyer qualified 9th for the Novice 600 race, and 4th for the Women's Cup Challenge. "My goals this weekend were first, to be able to race, and second, to improve on my lap-times from last year" states Goyer. And without a doubt, both were accomplished.
With a 7th place finish in the Novice 600 race, and a 4th place finish in the Women's Cup Challenge, Goyer says: "I am very pleased with my weekend. I had so much fun and learned a few things. I'm still getting used to the upgrades on the bike, but I'm getting there. I do want to thank Mimic Industries for helping me this weekend."
Special guest Ann Deschenes and crew were taking some video footage of female road-racers and conducting interviews to showcase women's racing in Canada. The release date will be announced when it becomes available.
Goyer is looking forward to the next round which will be on May 30th at ICAR in Mirabel, where she will be racing in round 2 of the Women's Cup Challenge.
