Round 3 R.A.C.E. regional series

Goyer get’s her first podium finish of 2010 at Shannonville Motorsports Park!

The weather cooperated fully this weekend for round 3 of the R.A.C.E series.  Although threatening skies didn't look so promising, all of the qualifying sessions were long over before the rain soaked the paddock late Saturday night.

Goyer qualified 8th for the Novice 600 race and 3rd for the Women's Open race. Goyer explained: "I was a little disappointed with my qualifying times for the Novice 600. I really wanted to qualify in the top 5. I struggled with turn 3 all weekend, and I know that's where I had to improve to get at least a 1.09. In the women's heat race I got a good start and was pleased with my overall performance."

With a final 7th place finish in the Novice 600 race Goyer says: "I tried so hard to get 6th, and came real close, but when I got to turn 3 the bike ahead of me got away just enough so that I couldn't pass him before the checkered."  In the Women's Open race Goyer got a bad start, but still managed to finish 3rd on the podium. "Yea that start was probably the worst start I've had since I started racing" laughs Goyer.  "But it was nice to be back on the podium!"

Goyer's next race will be on July 11th, 2010 at Mosport International Raceway, where she will be participating in round 3 of the Pro Honda Oils Women's Cup Challenge.
