A Perfect Weekend at Race City for Team Szoke

Jordan Szoke, six time superbike and four time Pro Sportbike defending champion "did the double" on his way to a perfect season during rounds 2 &3 of the Canadian National Superbike Series held in Calgary AB Canada.  The 3.2 km roadcourse has charmed the national circuit with double header action seven times in the past and has seen its fair share of superbike champions. Szoke enjoys the most national superbike podiums at Race City Speedway and this past weekend was no different during his five time title defense in both the Superbike and Pro Sportbike categories.

Double Header action secures racing both on Saturday and Sunday keeping the Waznie Racing/Ciclo Werks BMC/Dewildt Honda Fast Company crew busy not only with their defending champion Jordan Szoke but with also with his wife Amy Szoke competing in her class, Amateur Sportbike. [...]

Amateur 600 qualifying found Amy Szoke shy on the grid. "I was really bummed about my qualifying result, I am a second and a half behind my personal best from last season and it's really put me in a bad position on the grid. I had better get a good start." Amy's crew chief Jim and husband Jordan de-brief her and make some major changes to her CBR600RR for her two races. Focusing on the long straight, Amy aggressively passes into the thick of things to stick onto the faster riders in front of her. She finishes her first race in 11th and the second in 10th rewarded with a second a lap faster than last season.

"The field is really stacked this season; there are some really talented racers that have elevated their game which I think it makes it more fun to compete. I can't wait until Mosport." says Amy. "My goal was to remain consistent and put a good race together, not just a fast lap or two, and to go quicker at the end of the race, than I did last season on my other equipment. We definitely accomplished that."

When asking Jordan to sum up his weekend he responds, "I really want to thank all of our sponsors who have jumped on board this season, we came to them very late this year, asking for help and were met with overwhelming support. It feels good to put our bike on top for them this weekend."

Szoke leaves Calgary with maximum points, sweeping qualifying, superpole and most laps lead for the weekend.

Watch for Szoke defending his 54 point superbike lead and 32 Pro Sportbike lead at Mosport International Raceway located in Bowmanville ON Canada July 8 – 11 2010.
