28/29 August 2010 Knockhill KDMC
I woke up on Saturday morning and it was a nice wee day. :) I was really looking forward to getting out on my bike again. I was only going to do two sessions so we could strip and rebuild my bike for Sunday. I had done five laps and my bike was feeling fine, the temperature was perfect. That's why I got a shock when I all of a sudden felt myself sliding down on my side at Duffus.
At first I thought I had went down too many gears and the back end just locked up, but I was soon made out to be wrong. As I made my way down and to a fast halt in the gravel I automatically knew I'd hurt my elbow. The ambulance came and picked me up and took me to the medical centre to get checked over. The paramedics recommended I go to the hospital to get checked over. We went and I got an x-ray on my elbow. Thankfully it was just badly bruised, but very tender. Unfortunatly I hurt my left bum cheek so I was hoping it wouldn't affect me whilst moving from one side to the other on my bike.
I woke up on Sunday morning and I was feeling pretty stiff. It was very windy outside so it was going to be a hard day (escpecially on the gp bike).
I was out on my Aprilia first and only really felt my arm hurting at the hairpin. As soon as I saw P1 on my pitboard I came in. I managed to get a good enough time to make it stick for the race.
On my GP bike I thought my arm would be hurting more but it was much sorer on my Aprilia because of the weight of the bike. It was VERY windy and I was 3rd on the grid.
Aprilia1: I got an amazing start and was really glad to be at the first corner first in my attempt to clear off at the front. :) Every lap my pit board numbers were getting bigger which meant my lead was getting bigger. I was chuffed to cross the line in first.
GP1: I got quite a good start. I was close to the two leaders but couldn't quite make it up to them so had a good wee run round myself.
Aprilia 2: Got another great start. My arm was feeling some pressure on the last couple of laps so I just took it easy and crossed the line first.
GP 2: I got a great start and was fighting for the lead with Stuart [Wilson] until I saw a classic bike fly straight into the hairpin into the barriers. So the race was red flagged.
Once we got to restart it was going to be a 7 lap dash. I ended up 2nd. Stuart and I had a great battle. :) The wind got the better of me as I was very aware that it could spit me off and I definitely didn't want to be sliding down the track again. I was pleased with my efforts over the weekend.
