Round 6 R.A.C.E regional series

This past weekend officially marks the end of the 2010 racing season. As luck would have it, the weather cooperated fully during the last round of the R.A.C.E regional series at Shannonville Motorsports Park.

Friday practice was a bit of a challenge for Goyer. She explained: "I felt like I was going backwards. I was 5 seconds off my personal best and became very frustrated. Nothing was working for me." But with the help of amateur rider Andrew Westbrook, Goyer was able to work through these challenges and improve in each session.

During Saturday's Novice 600 timed qualifying session, Goyer qualified 5th, and qualified 3rd in the Women's Open heat race. "I felt I could've done better, but I just kept working on Andrew's tips and chipped away at my lap times", Goyer stated.

Sunday, last two races of the 2010 season, Goyer struggled on her launches during both races. "It was so bad that the race officials didn't want to penalise me for the jump start in the Novice 600 race." Goyer ended up 3rd last off the launch but quickly made her way back up to 5th position. "I had so much fun in that race! I really enjoyed it. The bike felt really good and everything just sort of came together." In the Women's Open race, Goyer's launch was a little better but not by much. She was in 3rd position off the start but quickly made her way to 2nd, thus finishing a strong 2nd place. Goyer said: "I was happy with this race.  I didn't feel like I was pushing or anything and I still beat my personal best. So this was an accomplishment for me, especially after struggling the whole weekend. I owe a huge thanks to Andrew Westbrook!"

Well now that the end of race season has arrived, Goyer is hoping to make a trip to Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic to race in the Campeonato National de Motovelocidad  in mid November. Goyer hopes for an experience of a lifetime.
