9th & 10th October 2010 North East @ East Fortune

It was the last round of Melville a few weeks ago and all I needed to do was win one race and finish every other race to win the North East GP125 championship. I was very excited but nervous too.

Saturday practice went well and I made sure my bike was ready to go which it was. As I only had the GP bike to worry about I had a lot of pressure taken off me. Qualifying went pretty good, and I ended up on pole for the GP bikes but 11th on the grid.

My first race was dry but very cold. I decided I was going to win the first race so I could relax a little more for the rest of the weekend.

Race1: I got a great start and got myself a good leap into the first corner. I knew Stuart [Wilson] would be right on my tail so I tried to give it my all and get a gap. We got through the first two laps, and that's when we started battling. The big bikes were interfering with us getting on with our race so we had to get through the pack quickly.

After seven laps there was still no getting a gap. We were both pushing really hard and having a really good fight for the win when the red flag went out. I was in front which meant I was half way towards getting the championship. My race is on youtube.

For the last four races of the weekend I stayed relaxed and raced my own races in order to win the championship. :D I was so pleased with myself.

I have had a great season & can't wait for it to start again next year. Thankyou to everyone for your help and support. :)
