Round one. Knockhill (KDMC)

We were all excited about round one until we found out that there was a foot of snow at Knockhill. :( Thankfully by the time we got up there on Friday most of the snow had been cleared off the track. Luckily we had garages for the weekend which make all the difference.

Saturday practices were kind of half wet, hald dry to start with. I was just about half way through my last session on the GP bike and the heavens opened. It was rain, and sleet and snow all at the same time! It was a disgusting kind of sludge. HA. So I decided to come in, as I only had inters on. All my bikes were running great so I put my Aprilias to sleep with their covers and stuff, while my dad and Freddy and I stripped my GP bike to make sure it was all good. Which it was. :) All set for Sunday. :D

7o'clock! My mum woke us up. We had to get up for scruitineering before it got really busy. Still half asleep I wandered up to the scruitineering shed, where all my bikes got through fine. :) It was foggy and wet, so it was wet tyres.

I was out first on the Aprilia for qualifying. As we now have a pink pitboard I could see it clearly... it said P1, then P2, then P1 again. It ended up P2. I was chuffed with that, as I was on the front row. :)

Qualifying on my GP bike, I was second as well, which I was pleased with.

When we were starting my Aprilias up, we were shocked when one of them had a mis-fire! My dad took the tank off and put it together again and it was fine again.

Race1 Aprilia: I got an awsome start which I was shocked at. :D I led until the hairpin when I discovered a problem. When I went to click down the gears which is actually moving my foot upwards, it felt like it was engaging when really it wasn't. I was coming out of the hairpin and it was just bogging. :S I was rather confused. After the race my dad had a look at it and we thought it was just that the gear lever was hitting against the frame. I took the bike round the pits and it seemed better, although I couldn't get the same feeling from being on the track obviously. I decided to go out in the next race and make sure it was ok.

Race1 GP: I was shocked again when I got a beasting start. :-D I led for the first wee while until Stu came passed me. I tried to tag onto him but the back-markers got in the way so I had to settle for second, which I liked. :)

Race2 Aprilia: I got a good start again but was second for the first turn. We were going along the back straight inches away from each other going into the haripin. And my gears went wonky again. :( I tried my best to keep up but every time the hairpin came I was losing a lot of time. :/ So I got two seconds for the Aprilias. :)

Race2 GP: There had just been a small drizzle so we had wets on, and so my dad put extra tape on my radiator to stop my temperature falling below 50°C. He put a bit too much on so after my two warm up laps coming upto the grid, I had to get off my bike and take a bit off. :) But dumb-ass Sammi takes the tape off so that it sticks to my glove. :-L I couldn't use my other hand because I had to use that to keep the bike running. So there's me standing next to my bike on the grid waving my hand about in the air. And the red flag man thought my bike had stopped so he was telling me to move to the side, and I was like NO, NO, come and un-stick me from the tape. :L He did and I got back on my bike. :) I got another good start and was leading until Stuart came past me. I tried to tag on again until the back markers appeared. GRRR! I was getting soo frustrated with this one 'slow round the corners, but fast up the straight bikes', and to make things worse this guy was waving his legs about. I was saying to myself - SIT STILL man. :-L

Overall I was pleased with my performances over the weekend, and hopefully dad and I have a rough idea what we are going to do to my gear lever for east fortune. :D At least we have a weekend off the get the bikes ready again... except my poor dad, who's doing a shut down at the moment. :(
